we offer couples counseling for couples at all stages of their relationship including partners who are in new relationships, who are thinking about enhancing their commitment, or who have been together for many years and are struggling with family dynamics, intimacy issues, and life transitions. We welcome diversity and recognize that relationship challenges are universal but also influenced by social and cultural context.
The Gottman method was developed by Drs. John and Julie Gottman. It is a scientifically sound approach to helping couples, which is based on years of clinical research. The Gottman method includes a data drive assessment and treatment plan designed to identify and target a couple's specific problem areas. This approach strives to assist the partners in achieving a deeper sense of understanding, awareness, empathy, and connection within their relationships ultimately leading to heightened intimacy and interpersonal growth.
The Gottman method takes the work in marriage counseling and couples counseling beyond the therapy office and helps couples to integrate the practices into their daily lives together with the goal of building lasting and satisfying partner relationships.
In addition to marriage counseling, couples counseling we offer a range of services including the Gottman Method, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based psychotherapies, trauma therapies and more. Learn about our individual and group therapies for clients, their parents, partners, and families offered at our Princeton, NJ location.
